Exhibition "Sky and Land of Vodlozero"

On 3rd of February 2009 will be official opening of the exhibition "Sky and Land of Vodlozero".

Mammal

Vodlozero forests are inhabited by typical taiga species of animals. The brown bear (Ursus arctos), lynx (Felis lynx), wolf (Canis lupus), mink (Martes hutreola), red fox (Vulpes vulpes) and badger (Meles meles) are usual for the territory. The otter (Lutra lutra) and musk-rat (Ondatra zibethica) are typical for water habitats. A large population of the northern deer dwells in the park. Locality boundaries of some taiga animals run across the territory of the park: the southern boundary of the wolverine (Gulo gulo), northern forest reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) and northern boundary of the wild boar (Sus scrofa), etc.
